Can Smoking Cause Bump On Hard Palate?

I am a 40yo male with no significant medical hx. A few weeks ago I woke up experiencing a painful "bump" on my hard palate, centerline, approx 1.5-2cm from the tooth line. The area was only slightly swollen and I did not notice any discoloration. I began pressing on the swollen area with my finger and was able to express some type of clear, odorless, sticky, slick, gel-like substance. Afterwards, the pain/discomfort went away for a few days, but has since returned with the same results. I have had very few dental problems, which have been limited to a couple of filled cavities. I have been a smoker in the past and also used smokeless tobacco for a short period of time. Any ideas?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern and let me tell you, that from the history given here I could say that the swelling that you have must be sebaceous cyst and this need to be confirmed and for that you need to go for clinical examination, this lesion is least concern with either smoking or dental condition, take care and have a nice day.
