Can Stitches Come Out Of Scars After Having Multiple Reconstructive Surgeries?
I have had 22 reconstructive surgeries, my whole respiratory has been rebuilt I am only 16 and most likely need more sure surgeries I have had a trach and lived in the hospital the first year of my life. I have this think that comes out of my neck once in a while near my scar and it always hurts, is it stitches trying to make them self way out years later?
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should not worry at all for sutures. There are two types of suture materials. 1. Absorbable and 2. Non absorbable. In reconstructive surgery mostly absorbable sutures are used. They start absorbing after 1-2 weeks of surgery. So at present you should not worry about sutures. And if non absorbable suture material is used, than doctor must call you for suture removal after 7 days. It's a basic protocol and no surgeon can commit such mistake. So relax about suture. There must be something else.so consult your primary doctor and discuss this.
