Can Strenuous Activities Be Performed If Suffering From Pericarditis?

I have been diagnosed with a bruise on the heart and pericarditis from my attending physician resulting from a vehicle accident on August 5th of this year. I ve been referred to a cardiologist and I m quite nervous about it especially with how long am I going to be away from strenuous activities (i.e. weight lifting, law enforcement work)
