is alopecia areata caused by stress alone? i would like to believe the answer is no.....no one in my family has it....so i know its not hereditary.......are there any hollistic/ ayervedic medications that may help? i started drinking braggs apple cider vinegar every morning as well as olive oil but i am switching to virgin coconut oil as i was told it was way better than olive oil. i even researched it myself......i need help with this....its overwhelming now.....am i doing the correct thing? please assist

As for holistic approaches, there are few ongoing trials for yoga as an adjuvant treatment. But no studies have proven its role as a monotherapy. It should be started along with other medical treatments. Relaxation techniques and meditation will help. But, please visit a dermatologist for proper management of the condition. You need to be started on steroid applications/injections or minoxidil therapy depending on the severity.
