IM 22 years old and for the past two months I ve been getting a shock feeling one the left side of my chest right above my breast and it happens for about a minute long but it hurts bad enough that sometimes I have to stop what I m doing and just focus on breathing I use to get this feeling when I was a child but it never lasted as long as it does now and it didn t hurt as bad as it does now and some days it happens almost 20 different times and others its just a couple times I m really worried and a lot of people are telling me its just stress
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Your age is too young (22) for cardiac diseases, but better to rule out cardiac cause first as you are having left sided chest discomfort. So get done ECG to rule out cardiac cause. If ECG is normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause. You are mostly having stress and related chest discomfort. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions. Try to identify stressors in your life and start working on it. Avoid stress and tension. Be relax and calm. You may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry much. You will be alright.
