Can Sugar Substitutes Cause Nerve Problems?

Are there harmful effects of using sugar substitutes for ~40 years. I am having terrible nerve problems and I am thinking that maybe the long term use of these sugar substitutes have damaged my nerves, especially in my feet. I am not diabetic but have been diagnosed with neuropathy and paresthesias..

There is no clear evidence that artificial sweetners cause nerve damage. Your symptoms are more matching towards peripheral neuropathy. Better consult a neurophysician to look further into your problem.
