Can Sunlight Cause One Sided Headache?

I get severe headaches on only one side of brain. Usually when i go out in sunlight, i immediately get headache. In the beginning, it used to vanish if i sleep for sometime. But now its not reducing even if i sleep. 3 years back i took Betacap plus 10 for 3 months. For few months i didn t get any ache but from past one year again i m getting severe headache. I am not able to control i take Grenil. sometimes its useful but sometimes it doesn t go... After childbirth the frequency of headache is more, my son is one year old.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a migraine.

Coming to this point, I would first recommend avoiding triggering factors like sleep deprivation, sunlight, wine or alcohol intake, etc.

If the headache frequency is interfering with your daily activity, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist and starting preventive therapy (calcium channel blockers or beta blockers or Topiramate).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
