Can Taking Thyroxine And Glycomet Be Safe To Treat Thyroid?
My wife is a thyroid patient. During blood test found sugar is high. As per endocrinologist due to thyroid problem some times sugar level will be high, is it correct. Doctor advised her to take thyroxine and GLYCOMET. GLYCOMET is only for three months. What are the side effects of thyroxine. And GLYCOMET.Pls.advise

Glycomet(metformin) is the first line drug of choice for Diabetes(high sugar). It is safe to take this medicine unless one has severe kidney compromise and regarding side effect it a very safe drug and rarely can cause lactic acidosis. Regarding thyroxine, if the functioning on thyroid gland is not optimum this will lead to reduced thyroid hormone in body and it will reflect it's deficiency in almost all the systems of the body. So if it is taken in optimum quantity(just as much required by the body reflected by TSH n FT4) it will be beneficial for the patient and the side effects will be negligible or no side effect at all.
