Hi, I got a tattoo last week and everything was healing fine. But now I have these white head bumps around it that itch pretty bad. On and off. I think it may be the way the artist shaved me and gave me ingrown hairs? I went to a professional by the way so I wasn t too concerned about a serious infection. Just very annoying and it won t stop. I ve had them for three days now. I ve been using Aquaphore on my tattoos. But I didn t think that could effect my skin that way. Considering I don t have really sensitive skin.
Hi. As per your case history you are having tattoo dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
