Hello doctor i have a son who is 4.5 years old now.we got to know that he has milk allergy when he was 7 months old.we did not do an tested hy test to confirm this.when he was 7 months old he had frequent loose motions for which he was admitted to the hospital there they did a test on his motion and the doctor said the mother milk is not getting digested so he asked me to stop feeding for 3 days.then he gave milk powder to feed him which had adverse reactions on him such as rashes, vomiting.after this we got to know that he is allergic. Later when he was 1.5 years old he had consumed kova a milk product.Immediately after this he started having motions vomiting he became pale and his whole body turned red. we took him to the nursing home where they said his pulse rate is getting down and told him to take to a bigger hospital. So by these incidents we are assuming as milk allergy. Is there any test that can prove this and the remedy for this
From what you said, he is having a serious form of milk allergy (immediate, IgE mediated type). As far as I know, there is no test to prove this type of allergy(another more common but less serious type can be diagnosed by endoscopic biopsy). But, two acute events following exposure itself is enough to diagnose.
And, since this is an inborn problem, there is no treatment other than prevention. All dairy products, in any form, has to avoided. It will better to keep an adrenalin pre-loaded syringe with you for emergency use after accidental exposure. This, your doctor can discuss with you.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
