Can The BP Fluctuate From Low To High Suddenly In A Day?

Just wondering about blood pressure. I have not checked it in a couple months before today. I am almost always in the low range. 125/80. Today, After a workout I was at 140/82 and just an hour ago 149/82. Does bp fluctuate that much? I did an intensive working about 6 hours ago, and just starting to get active again.

Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. Absolutely right. Blood pressure variability is the norm, rather than the exception, of normal functioning of the body. Exercise, rest, stress, meals, etc all generate changes. The goal should be to have a blood pressure of less than 140/90 most of the time, particularly at rest and night time.

Hope that helps, wish you the best,
