Can The Losartan Cause Recurrent Chest Cold And Phlegm ?

Thank you. I had what seemed like a chest cold in March. it continued on and off and turned into a sore throat and cough in May. I m not sick at all.... just a constant cough and bringing up phlegm. Went to Pulmonologist who said it was set off by ashma - and a virus. Put me on Prednosone. Cough and phlegm got much better. Still didn t go away. Off Prednosone and cough and phlegm seem to be coming back. The only medication I am on is Losrtan - HCTZ 50 - 12.5 mg . I wonder if that is the cause of the cough and phlegm. I also have a post nasal drip and wonder if this is part of what is going on. Can the Losartan cause this?

thanks for your query in HCM,

AS per your narration, LOSARTAN-HCTZ is losartan and hydrochlorthiazide. this combination is not known to cause any chest cold or cough, phlegm etc..
so dont worry please continue the tablet. very rarely patients have got cough has side effect.

thank you
