Can The Bleach Cause The HPT To Show Negative?

I took a home pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am worried that the bleach that was in the room at the time could of caused it to become invalid and give a wrong read. There was so much bleach that it made my eyes burn and cry. Could the bleach have made it a false negative?

Hello dear,I understand your concern.Bleach doesn't effect the pregnancy test.The HCG hormone in urine gives the positive line on test.If you are really doubtful you can repeat the test after a week with early morning urine sample.The test usually gives accurate results of done a week after missed period.
