Can The Morning Pill For Treating UTI Be Taken With Lots Of Water Instead Of Food?

Hello. Just found out that my UTI is cipro resistant and I had to start on Macrobit today. I practice IF and If OMAD so I clean fast (water, plain tea, black coffee) until supper every day. My pharmacist supports this but said I really should have food with my morning pill. I didn t have the time to discuss this any further with him but I am wondering just how much of a difference it would make if I only have food with the evening pill and take the morning pill with lots of water?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you take it with food. This will help ensure absorption of the pill so that it can actually work and fight the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
