My father has adenocarcinoma in lungs. He got his first cycle of chemo in 4th of November 2014 and 2nd cycle is on 25th of November 2014. But his SGPT is showing 334 right now. Will it be okay for him to take the second cycle now ? or how to reduce the level ? Please help.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern elevated liver enzyme could be due to secondary lesion, and this need to be ruled out because chemotherapy may not cause this, chances of metastasis need to be ruled out or some liver pathology may be there, hava a nice day

Oncologist Dr. Deepak Sundriyal's  Response
Hello. Your father reports suggest acute hepatitis. He needs to be investigated for that prior to chemotherapy as it can get worst during chemo. So please undergo some test for the cause of acute hepatitis. Please visit your chemo physician or gastro enterologist.
