Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Don't Worry - Papillary carcinomathyroid will not be transmitted to your baby. While other cancer like medullary carcinoma of thyroid will. So please check with your treating physician to confirm the type of cancer.
For your baby a thyroid function test has to be done in new born period which is part of the newborn screening program.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
