Can Tonsil Removal Affect Breathing?

My son is 12, has had his tonsils and adnoids removed (age 40; had his nose scraped and felt better for a bit (age 9); but now continues to breathe through his nose, looks like an allergy kid but no allergies (tested with shots when 3), and sleeps so hard he wets the bed many times a week. Not sure where to turn.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Tonsillectomy resolves breathing issues and it improves after surgery. Adenoids mostly cause mouth breathing but post surgery it improves.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chirag Vaghela, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
