Can Tramadol And Gabapentin Taken Together?

I have been using Tramadol - 100 mgs (+) for several yrs, then started on Gabapentin - 100- mgs. for several months. A doctor encouraged me to use Advil 400- mgs. and a muscle relaxant, that I purchased from Coscos. Tramadol was for pinched nerves L3-L4 lower spine. I am diabetic, on insulin 4-times/day. So I have 4-5 chronic health problems. Resulted in Kidney pains, so I dropped the Advil. Q: can I contin- ue with Tramadol, or does it interfere too much with my Gabentin? I have Iots of stomach pains, joint pains, etc. Plse advise. OK - thanks. .

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
There is no recognised interaction between Tramadol and Gabapentin.
Tramdol is not a gastric irritant and will not affect your stomach pain.
Both have some sedative effect and you should be careful regarding the same.
Tramadol as you might know has an addiction potential and so take care.
If you have further queries, I shall be happy to answer them
