I am 46 years old, male, 5-8, 190 pounds and having trouble with myoclonus type symptoms--left ear twitching at or near eardrum off and on, a couple of times a minute with episodes that may last an hour or several hours. I take allopurinol and over the counter allergy medication. When I press on ear, sometimes I feel a squishy feeling inside like there is some liquid inside--tried antibiotic ear medicine and swimmer's ear medicine. Could it be ear wax on ear drum(nothing comes out with q-tip) or sinus mucous getting in ear canal from allergies?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This twitching maybe due to the accumulation of fluid inside your middle ear as a complication of untreated sinusitis. You have to get a complete ENT examination with endoscopy , CT scan and audiology investigation(Impedance) to arrive at a final diagnosis. Don’t use any objects to probe your ear, that’s unsafe
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
