Hello, I am having 7 months of pregnancy. during routine examination of urine and haemoglobin the following results we found. HB 9.8 and pus cells 25-30 hpf.. Is that mean that I am suffering from UTI? Does it will affect my pregnancy or labor? Previously also i was under medication for UTI...this HB count any problem?
The best and proven way to diagnose UTIs is through Urine Cultures. Not only it does detect an urinary infection but tells the patient and her doctor that the provided treatment was successful (or not). Anemia is frequently seen during pregnancy and the most prevalent cause is iron deficiency. Anemia is often seen in upper urinary tract infections (pyelonephritis) but this does not seem to be the case. Ask your doctor to rule out iron deficiency anemia. Anemia is related to low birth weight and preterm delivery
