Can Urination After Ejaculation Kill All Viable Sperms That May Survive After?

Hi, i ejaculated before going to bed, urinated after i woke up, i urinated 3-4(first urination when i woke up included) times in 8hrs. Does my pre cum contain any sperm? and does first urination can kill all viable sperm on male urethra? I ve seen urologist say that first urination can washed off all sperm available and after that sperm cannot live in male urethra.

Hello,

Urination and ejaculation are two different things. During urination, urine exits out of a separate tube (the urethra). Sperms come from another tube that runs parallel but is separate from the tube used for ejaculation. This means that urine does not come into direct contact with any sperm already present within the ejaculatory pathway. If you pass some residual urine within proximity to seminal fluid at ejaculation, it will not have enough time to significantly impact sperms viability.

Urine itself has antimicrobial properties due to its acidic pH levels which prevent bacteria growth. Urination does not affect the fertility level; it does not kill the sperms. Urination after sex may help to prevent Urinary tract infection but it will not prevent pregnancy. In case of unprotected sex, the female partner should take emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hrs.
