Can Using Topical Steroid Fluocinonide Causes Flushing On The Cheek And Sensitive Skin?

Over the past 2 months I had 5 episodes of unilateral flushing on my cheeks (4 times on my right cheek, one time on my left cheek). I have been using topical steroid fluocinonide on and off for 2 1/2 years (I d use this steroid cream maybe twice a month, once a day). Can this steroid cream cause the flushing? I ve also noticed that my skin got gradually more sensitive since using the cream and I often get hives/red bumps with whiteheads. Taking benadryl seems to help with hives but they often reappear.

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Steroid ointments can cause allergic reaction on sensitive skin. If you are having such symptoms, I would suggest you to stop this ointment and consult your dermatologist.
Benadryl is helping but the ointment must be stopped.
Thanks
