Can Uterine Fibroids Cause Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?
I have uterine fibroids and a year ago I developed a dvt in my right leg. I was hospitalised and found to be anaemic and had 5 units of blood and 1 unit of iron( I think it was) iron. There seemed to be a discrepancy between haematology and gynacology. Gynacology indicated the fibroids caused the dvt but haematology disagreed. There was no other reason for the dvt. What would be your thoughts?
Hello.Although it is not frequent, uterine fibroids can cause DVP. In very large fibroids, compression of nearby veins can causes thrombosis. I wish you good health. (if the answer has helped you, please indicate this)
