Can We Try For Normal Delivery With Grade 3 Placenta As All Other Biometric Signs Are Within Permissible Limits?

My wife has a grade 3 placenta. she is 36 weeks 4 days pregnant. her liquor volume and other biiometric signs are withe permissible limits. My doctor wants to have a c section on 37 weeks to 2 days. Here i might need to add that the baby was 2200 gms in the 36th week. (small for date is what the USG said).
We were planning a normal delivery. IS it ok to still try for ND?

Hi,

Stage 3 Placenta means there is increased calcification of it or in other words its ageing too fast. If her liquor volume is adequate then you can wait some more time and go for USG again before scheduled C- section.

If the amout if liquor is decreasing then go for C-section otherwise induction of normal labour can be done if cervix is favorable.

Final decision must be of your treating Doctor.
