Can Weight Gain Cause Prominent Blue Veins All Over My Breasts?
Hi I have recently gained about 8kgs,I was 55kgs.i now have very prominent blue veins all over my breasts leading down the sides of my stomach to my pelvic area.i have had my period but very light.tested for pregnancy and 2 were negative and one was faint positive, took a blood test next day and was negative.i am still picking up weight but eat normal. Can weight gain of this small magnitude intensify blue veins like this?
Hello, Thanks for posting your query. Weight gain in itself does not create prominent veins. If any, it should be the reason behind the sudden weight gain. The abnormal menstrual pattern you had also suggests a possibility of hormone imbalances. I would ask you to get a proper workup to see what is wrong and plan further management. Complete hormone assay along with a sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route is needed. Pregnancy also can be simultaneously excluded/confirmed. Hope this helps.
