Can Weight Loss Medication Be Taken While Trying To Conceive?
Hi doctor, i was diagnosed with pcos and prescribed with obelit and yasmin and metmorfin.. I an using this for almost more than a year.. So do i need to stop this.. Also i m able to just reduce 7 kgs with medicines and want to plan family now.. Can while we planning weighloss medicines can be used?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. With PCOD, establishment of natural ovulation can be had through correction of hormone imbalance, insulin resistance, diet and weight management through regular exercise. I do not suggest using medication to reduce weight while you are planning to conceive. Instead, weight reduction can be had with diet and exercise. Metformin can be continued while the other medication has to be stopped if ovulation has to occur. Please contact your consultant for the specific treatment regime applicable to you and plan further management. Hope this helps.
