Can Wine Be Consumed Occasionally, Apart From Getting A Tattoo When Diagnosed With Atrial Fibrillation?
My doctor told me to only drink 1 or two drinks occasionally because I was diagnosed at 32 years of age with afib two months ago. I drank a full body of wine yesterday to myself and was fine. Does that mean I’ll always be fine to drink that much or more occasionally ? Also am I Abel to still get a tattoo with having afib?
You are advised to avoid getting tattoo as you have history of atrial fibrillation. You are to avoid any type of excitement, anxiety, stress (emotional or physical) and infections. As these factors will trigger heart rate that can affect AF or make it worse. Since you have AF, infections will be difficult to manage & cause complications.
People on blood thinners should avoid infection and hence tattoos, as it causes bleeding. You are advised to avoid taking alcohol or any alcoholic drinks. Alcohol triggers AF, even moderate drinking can trigger AF. Taking alcohol will lead to complications like hypertension, cardiomyopathy and other cardiac problems.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
