Can You Get A Bullseye Rash From A Tick Bite With Out Getting Lyme Disease?
Can you get a “bullseye rash” from a tick bite with out getting Lyme disease? I ask because when I was young I had a tick bite on my back. It took a few days for me to find the tick. When I did find it, there was a swollen red raised circle around the tick. My father pulled the tick and the circle went away. It has been many years and I don’t think I have any symptoms. However, I frequently donate blood and am concerned that if I do have it it will be transferred to the recipients of my blood.
All ticks won't transfer Lyme's disease only black legged ticks may transfer Lyme's disease. No cases of Lyme disease have been linked to blood transfusion, scientists have found that the Lyme disease bacteria can live in blood from a person with an active infection that is stored for donation.
Individuals being treated for Lyme disease with an antibiotic should not donate blood. Individuals who have completed antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease may be considered as potential blood donors. So don't worry getting disease from single bite is very less and humans won't act as a carriers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
