Can You Take Aricept Safely If You Tend To Have A Slow Heart Rate?
Can you take Aricept safely if you tend to have a slow heart rate? Don t have exact speed, but doctor says it s slow and is concerned about Aricept. I just want to maximize my limping brain for quality of life, regardless of slow heart. Living longer is not necessarily positive with likelihood of Alzheimer s.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
It is best to consult your doctor about using Aricept, as they know your medical history and can advise you on whether it is safe. Slow heart rate, also known as bradycardia, can be a potential side effect of Aricept. Your doctor will consider this when deciding whether or not to prescribe it.
They may also consider other options or monitor your heart rate closely if they prescribe it. Ultimately, it is essential to have a conversation with your doctor about the potential risks and benefits of taking Aricept and to weigh those against your overall goals for quality of life.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Aricep more or less is a safe drug with few side effects. Particularly, bradycardia (Low Heart Rate) is a very uncommon side effect of Aricep and it is present only in 0.1 to 1 percent of total patients, who are using Aricep.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
