Cataract Surgery. Given Two Medicines With One Of The Medicine Differs On The Label And Instruction Sheet. Problem?
I am having cataract surgery. I have been subscribed two drugs for my eyes. However, there is one name on the prescription label and another name on my instruction sheet from the doctor. It is off hours and they can't be reached now. The drugs are Besivance and Durezol on the instruction sheet. The prescription labels read Prednisolone and Ofloxacin .3% OP SOL. Which two drug names are the same thing?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing HCM
The drugs written in the prescription sheet are same as the ones given to you, albeit the names are different. They have advised ofloxacin while they have given you besifloxacin which is another drug in the same class of antibiotics. They have advised prednisolone and given difluprednate which is a topical corticosteroid given for pain.
Hope this helps you
Take care
Hi, Basivanace is Basifloxacilin might have given for Ofloxacilin eye drops. Durezole is Defluprednate might have given for predinisone eye drops. Actons of both drugs are same but it is better take after consulting your ophthalmologist. ok and take care.
