Hi, I have a mallet fx in the first joint of my pinky finger, I had a pin in for 4 weeks and a splint part time for 2 weeks and it does not seem to be improving. what next? It is still very red and sore at the joint. should i be moving it more or splinting it more?
Any surgery of upper limb will ask the immobilization for upto 3-4 weeks. Post which based on the healing you may be asked to take Physical therapy sessions so the movement is regained.
Also, nothing much to worry. you can start slow and gradual physical therapy which will help you regain full function of the finger.
Regards
