Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi i am currently taking 2 percoset a day I have high cholesterol and take phenofibrate and generic Lipitor could this be causing my fluttering in my heart or it feels like an irregular heart beat. Not all the time mostly at night. I do not feel anxious or nervous. Your help would be appreciated.
None of those medications usually causes palpitations, so I would be more concerned about an abnormal rhythm of the heart; a baseline ECG or electrical activity of the heart can be obtained, but if the irregular heart beat comes and goes, then a continuous ambulatory monitor called Holter can be considered, to be worn for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the frequency of the symptoms.
Hope that helps, wish you the best,
