Chances Of Pregnancy Having Sex On The Third Day After Periods And Taken Next Choice?
My girlfriend took next choice one step after the condom broke in between 2 hrs after the accident her last period ended was 3 days before the accident my question is she hasn't gotten her period yet and its been 1 week late will the pill make her period late or should I start to worry
Her period ended 3 days before the act so most likely it was day 8-10 of the cycle [ assuming that she bled for 5 days or 7 days]. This is just the beginning of fertile period and chances of pregnancy are not very high. Also she has taken the emergency contraception within 2 hours. So there is no need to worry. Chances of pregnancy are extremely low almost zero.
The delayed period is most likely due to the emergency pill. As of now, if you are still very worried, get a pregnancy test done. If there is a pregnancy it will come positive now. Most likely it will be negative. If it is negative just wait till the periods come. Most likely they will come within the next 2 weeks.
I completely understand the concern especially as periods are delayed but there is no need to worry. Emergency pill will protect. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
