Chances Of Pregnancy Through Protected Sex And HPT Positive?

Hi doctor My girlfriend didn t get periods from last 45days. We had sex between that but I am sure that my sperm didn t go inside her.. but when she checked today in pregnancy instrument its showing as positive. I am worried doctor I dnt know what to do... can u please suggest me a medicine for her to get periods

Hello and welcome,

Irrespective of the protection it seems that she is pregnant.
So as of now, please see a doctor and get her examined. This is important as sometimes the pregnancy occur in the tubes and if abortion inducing drugs are taken by such women it is dangerous.

So just see a doctor and get an examination and if needed an ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy is inside the uterus. The drugs used are miferpistone and misoprostol and are to be taken at interval of 48 hours. They can be taken till 63 days from the date of the last missed period. They work better if taken early. In a small number of cases they may cause incomplete abortion and she may need a surgical curettage to complete the procedure. This occurs in very few women and most abort completely.
So discuss this with your doctor and take the drugs as soon as possible.
