Change Of Color Of Sperm, Not Able To Produce Sperm During Ejaculation. Taking Flomax. Any Ideas?

I've been taking Flomax for about a year and have noticed that sometimes my sperm appears to be discolored. My wife has noticed it and said that it looks brownish in color. Is this normal? Is it blood. Sometimes during intercourse I don't produce any sperm at all during ejaculation. Please explain to me what's going on? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The brown colour of your semen is possibly due to blood , you may want to consider having a sample analysed by your doctor to determine the exact cause of the change in colour.
Blood in semen (hematospermia) can be due to (1) inflammation or infection of the prostate,
(2)prostatic cancer,
(3)inflammation or infection of the urethra (the passage where urine and semen pass )
(4)trauma
(5)disease of the seminal vesicles (responsible for production of some of sperm)

Flomax can cause a decrease in the volume of your sperm, this may be due to retrograde ejaculation (the semen go backwards). This occurs because the bladder neck does not close off properly and the semen goes back into the bladder.

YOu may want to consider visiting your doctor for an evaluation.

I hope this helps
