Chest And Stomach Injury, Popping Sensation, Deep Breath Hurts, Sternum Area Pain. What Is The Reason?
I jumped up on something and landed on my stomach/chest. I heard a pop and felt something on the left side of my chest. Did I break a rib? Bruise a rib? Or dislocate a rib? It hurts to take a deep breath, put pressure directly where I felt the pop, and also if I press in the sternum area. It also hurts to get in and out of the car and to reach or stretch for things.
A crack in the ribs is generally very painful. It may have been a contusion which is causing the kind of pain that you are experiencing. However it is advisable that you go in for a x ray chest to rule out any bony injury or any damage to the lung.
hello, hope this message finds you in good mood.you are giving history of trauma to the chest and abdomen.you heard a crepitus sound may be suggestive of fracture rib.you are also having pain while taking deep breaths suggestive of damage to pleura and the lung.i advice you to meet your pulmonolgist and get chest x ray and ct scan if necessary to be done.meanwhile you can have some analgesics for pain relief.
hoping for your good health..
