Chest Pain, Occasional Decals. Had ASD Closed. Cause?

I have chest pain , I had an asd closed 5 years ago it was 3.5 cm big. My sister has cardiomyopathy .this resulted in a heart transplant. My little sister has a leaky valve. I keep getting chest pain but nothing seems to show on a 24 hour tape. My regular heart rate is about 62 bpm I suffer occasional decals. Really want to know what causes the chest pain? As they can be excruciating.

Hi Griffiak2 , greetings from healthcaremagic.com
I would have liked to have a more elaborate history of your chest pain , the type of pain, frequency , location and radiation and what you do to decrease the pain which you have not provided in your case history . You had your ASD repaired 5 years back and i am assuming you are under serial echocardiogram to evaluate your heart functions and the graft patency or under a proper cardiological guidance If you have not taken such steps then please get a echocardiogram with full doppler spectral analysis and seek advice from a cardiologist at the earliest. The chest pain you are currently experiencing can rarely be attributed to your ASD or cononary artery insuffiency or may be development of pulmonary artery hypertension. It is very important we need to rule out pulmonary artey hypertension as long standing ASD is a definite cause for it. I also assume you do not suffer from indigestion/ dyspepsia and do not smoke and consume alcohol which can give you chest pain sometimes. I hope i have been able to help you. Take care
