Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are 54 year male with positive family history of Heart attacks, you should not ignore chest pain
please
consult Cardiologist and after examination you will be required to get few check up to decide future course of action.
It will be detected if you have
Hypertension,investigation like ECG,2 D
Echocardiography, TMT, and biochemistry like FBS, PPBS,BUN.Creatinine,
Lipid Profile.
Further advise depends on result of tests, if required Coronary angiography may be performed.
We need to take care of risk factors as well if you smoke please quit.
If pain is non cardiac then Acid peptic disorder and
cervical spondylosis are common causes, which can be treated easily.
If diabetes or High B.P. is detected keep both under control.Regular exercise and meditation reduces stress and if your Lipid profile is deranged it can be controlled with diet and medicines.
That is best we can do have healthy life.
Please take care
Good Luck.
