Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

You suffer from anxiety and you are controlling it without medicines by breathing exercises. While running you developed chest pains, palpitations. The cardiac evaluation came normal. I would like to advise you to get your thyroid profile done. In a lot of young individuals hyperthyroidism may present as features of anxiety and may present with palpitations and chest pains. If thyroid examination come normal then visit a Psychiatrist for evaluation. Apart from breathing exercise you can try relaxation exercises as Progressive Muscle Relaxation Exercise.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

I have gone through your history.

It is less likely to have chest pain of cardiac origin in your case but you must rule it out.

You Should consult your physician for the same. Your doctor may also rule out other causes like low hemoglobin, thyroid dysfunction or vitamin B12 deficiency etc.

If all are negative and if you are having symptoms of anxiety, you should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management.

You may get additional benefit by yoga, meditation or breathing exercise.

Thanks.

HI
Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic
Anxiety and symptoms of heart disease overlap so muchj that it becomes very difficult to differentiate. But dont worry wait for the echo report. Palpitations, restlessness, breathlessness, confusion, sweating, tremors, bowel and bladder disturbance, discomfort in the chest, extreme fear, chocking sensation in the neck are all symptoms of anxiety. In heart disease also we see similar symptoms with slight variation. Usually symptoms of heart disease increase with exertion or load on heart. But neednot worry, wait for the report. If it is anxiety you will be prescribed anxiolytics.
Hope this helps you
Best wishes.
