Chest X Ray Shows Ptb. Prescribed Azithromycin. Will Any Change Occur After 5 Days Of Medication?
hi, my husband is a seaman and the result of his chest x-ray found out that he has a ptb right upper lobe but their company doctor advice to seek for a second opinion.. and the second doctor advice to take azithromycin for 5days and go back to him for the comparisation of the chest x-ray.. i just want to ask if there is a possibility to cure or any changes happen to his ptb within 5days of taking the medicine..? ASAP. Thanks
Yes if its is just any other infection and not tb then the long infection will clear with azithromycin. But as the pneumonia is in the right upper lobe it is most probably a tuberculosis. You can confirm it by doing sputum studies or a bronchoscopy
