Child. Bump, Slightly Swollen , Tender Hand. History Of Fall Bending Fingers Back. Suggest

y son hurt his hand 2 weeks ago. Was running and bent his fingers back falling into the stairs. Didn't think too much of it..never had any bruising but 2 weeks later and he is still complaing it hurts. It is still slightly swollen...there's is s bump and it is tender to touch.? Not sure if I should take him in it if it will just get better on its oen?

I am sorry about what happened to your child.

if the pains come up only when he moves the hand, the it will probably get better all by itself. You may want to add some pain killers and anti inflammatory to hasten the healing process. Also, avoid over manipulating it as it does not really help but inconveniences him.

Observe again for another 1 week. If you still have concerns then you may want to go get an xray to make sure there is nothing we are missing here.
