Firstly, Artesunate is given for 5 days for malaria. Incomplete course leads to flare-up of the malaria. A total of 5 days of Artesunate should be given.
If it was Vivax Malaria (caused by Plamodium vivax strain), your daughter will require (in addition to 5 days' of Artesunate), a 10-14 days' course of Primaquine for radical cure.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable treatment as advised.
