Child Had Vomiting And Watery Stools With Fever. Gave Lanzol, Crophen And O2 Tablet. Suggest?
Hi My child (5 years )had vomiting and watery stools with fever 7 days back. The doctor gave her junior lanzol and zocin-DS,Crophen for 3 days. After compliting the course , she still complained of stomach ache after food and going for 3 -4 times motion(not watery). She has no fever now.But after food ,she goes for motion.
Yesterday I went to doctor and doctor prescribed Junior lanzol and O2 tablet. Its difficult to give her O2 tablet by crushing it.She vomited y'day when I tried giving her that tablet. What should I do now.
As you have narrated the symptoms , it appear to be that the child is suffering with some GIT infection like amoebic dysentry. But the symptoms are recurring probably because of incomplete therapy.
Stool routine/microscopic examination and culture/sensitivity investigation is quite important to know the exact bug and the exact drug to treat the child effectively.
Imperically we can start the syrup of metronidazole and ofloxacin, but with proper doses and duration completely eradicate the infection.
I can understand your dilemma. Syrup ofloxacin is available and you can give your daughter the syrup. Kindly discuss with your doctor and give her the dose appropriate to her weight.
As loose motions are still persisting you should get a stool routine examination done and, if required, you may have to give your daughter an anti-amoebic treatment.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
