Child Has Assumingly Taken Advil Tablet Based On The Residue On Her Lips. Any Severe Effects On Health?

hi , i went downstairs to grab something , and came back up to see my daughter holding my travel size case of advil , i believe it was opened, she looked like she had eaten some judging by the residue around her lips , when i asked her if she had eaten any she just kept saying no , so im not sure if she ate any or not but we are monitoring her . I read online from other doctors responses that if she eats only 1 or 2 it wont do anything to her , i hope theyre right . were keeping a close eye other wise . ( she is 2 years and 3 months )

hello there!
i read you worries and i want to make you know that the toxic dose of Dvil is 200 mg/kg so multiply it with your kids weight, If she has taken more than that that you need to see a paediatrician to be on the safer road.

Mean while start collecing her urine for next 24 hours and make sure it is more than 0.5ml per kg in an hour. (for example if kid is 10 kg pee should be minimum 5- 10 ml in hour or 250-300 plus in 24 hours)
the other symptoms you should looking for are

Dizziness

Epigastric pain

Heartburn

Nausea

Rash

Tinnitus

Edema

Fluid retention

Headache

Vomiting
If any of these symptoms prevail rush to ER and seek help.Lets hope it does not come to that

Hope i was of some help.

Regards
