Child Has Bad Cold, Gave Cough Medication. Tried Cough And Cold Syrup. Didn't Help. Can I Give Nyquil?

Is it ok if I give my 7 year old a 1/2 a dose of the generic brand of Nyquil so she can sleep through the night, we can not get to the store tonight due to the weather and I can not find anyone who is available to go for me. I took her to the Dr. today because she was under the weather and he said that she had a very bad cold and would prescribe her some cough medication to help her feel better only since our appointment was at the end of the day we were not able to get it. I thought that maybe we still had some over the counter cough and cold syrup tucked away, only we didn't and now she's miserable and I feel horrible and just want to help, so what can I do? Can I give her that for tonight, till I can get her script tomorrow?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
In pediatric age group upper respiratory and lower respiratory infection are more common if it is not a infection then allergic reaction are likely but it need to be differentiate from each other, if it turned infection then it should be treated accordingly , if it is allergic then it can be subsided without any specific treatment, anti tissue, cough suppressant is not advisable in this age group, you can try pure honey just 10 ml at bed time this will give good result, take care of your baby bye.
