Child Has Brown Spots On Face, Reddish Bumps On Arm. Not Raised, Not Itchy
My son is 12 years old and 3 days ago we noticed a light colored brown spot on his face about the size of a pencil eraser. Then, yesterday, as the first spot has gotten a little lighter than it originally was, we noticed 2 more lightly colored brown spots, one on the same cheek as the first, the other on the other cheek. They are not raised, do not itch and it doesn t appear to be dry, flaky skin. He does have some small reddish bumps that he also has on the back of his arm but that has been normal for him during the winter months.
Hi,
first of all i would like to know whether before the presence of spots he had a lot of exposure to sun? whether the spots are increasing in size or darkening in colour? whether they are appearing on any other areas? does he have any small lumps over his body?does your family has any history of neurofibromatosis?
sometimes the brown spots may occur due to sunburn and any more exposure should be avoided. they will heal on their own.It might be freckles which sometimes occur around puberty. In case you notice any darkening of colour or lupms on skin please consult your doctor.
