Child Has Diarrhea, Bump On Head. What Could This Be?

Hi my nine month old baby has been being sick with diarrhea and doesnt want food usually he wants to eat everything he see he had a bump to the head 2 days ago he d already been having diarrhea before this i took him to the hospital they said it doesnt look like concussion blood pressure temperature all fine looks like a bug what could this be and what should i do?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It appears that your son has developed an intestinal infection which is giving rise to the diarrhoea. There is no relationship to the head injury which appears to be normal. I suggest that you get a stool routine examination done and in the interim start with some probiotics to recondition the intestinal flora. Ensure that he does not get dehydrated by giving him plenty of oral fluids in the form of lemonade, buttermilk, cocounut water.
