Child Has Excess Saliva, Slurring Speech. How Can This Be Prevented From Becoming A Long-term Issue?

My son (age 3.5) produces an excess amount of saliva . He doesn t drool as much as he used to, but it fills up in his mouth and makes it harder for him to speak (he slurs his speech a bit because of it). HI father has a similar issue, which is why I am concerned that he might not grow out of it. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from being a long term issue?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum,
You need to train him to swallow, by giving him things that would improve his swallowing capability and coordination like lollypop or some toffie to suck on to whenever possibly. If you train him well, im sure he will improve. Take care.
