as per your baby's weight 2 doses are sufficient. further you should give more water to prevent dehydration like progut kid. dissolve one sachet in 500ml water and give 100ml after each motion. the prepared solution can be stored for 24 hours

I can appreciate your concerns.
she is suffering from infective diarrhea & for her probably the right dose of DIOF DS would be 7.5 ml twice a day for 3 days only. Also continue giving her ORS solution & paracetamol syp for fever.If there is no improvement after 3 days get a stool test done for microscopy & culture both.

You are absolutely right. Ofloxacin and similar other molecules must not be given more than twice a day. However, Metronidazole is given thrice a day, so this is not a rational combination. If I were you, I would not use this preparation.

Your daughter requires antibiotic for her loose motions as she is having blood in stools.

You can give ofloxacin and metronidazole in prescribed dose by a pediatrician.

The ideal dose of this combination is twice daily.

In addition to the antibiotic, an oral probiotic, zinc, and oral rehydration solutions such as Pedialyte to be added to her treatment.

Hence I advise you to consult the Pediatrician for examination and prescription of adequate dosage of antibiotic and other medication.
