Child Has Hysteria, Arching Back, Crying, Screaming, Tiredness, No Localized Pain. Is This Common Behavior?
My daughter has been endulging in Halloween party with us at family friends. She is only 3 and 1/2 and she got hysterical on returning home for about 15 mins lying on floor unconsolable arching her back and bouts of crying/screaming which seemed to be related to her breathing. She was definitely up much later than normal in addition to sweet consumption far higher than normal. She was very tired after the episode and has gone to bed and now asleep. She didn't seem to have any localised pain but this was obviously worrying for us all. Is this a common behaviour one could put down to over tired and too many sweets without need for further concern?
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. Most probably her symptoms are due to tiredness as well as over eating. Better wait till she gets up from sleep If gets up normally without any symptoms you need not worry about. If she continues that atypical behaviour even after she gets up then you have to consult pediatrician Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
